This online store is presented as The Samella Lewis Estate and is operated by Unity Lewis Arts & Entertainment Inc. on behalf of the Samella Lewis Estate. Throughout these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the store operator acting on behalf of the Estate.

Artwork information

We make reasonable efforts to present each artwork accurately. The product page identifies the artist, title, date, medium, dimensions, edition or impression information, presentation or framing status, condition information when applicable, and price or inquiry status. Images are part of the description, but screen settings, photography, lighting, and scale can affect appearance. Buyers should request additional photographs or a condition report before purchase if those details are material to their decision.

Authenticity and certificates

Each artwork purchased through this store is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued or authorized by the Samella Lewis Estate. The certificate identifies the work and records the catalogue information applicable to that impression. An Estate-issued certificate is not represented as an original publisher’s certificate unless expressly stated.

Availability, editions, and inquiries

Availability and edition information are confirmed before fulfillment. A displayed edition size describes the edition and does not guarantee the availability of every impression. Works marked “Inquire” are not offered for immediate online purchase; an inquiry does not reserve a work or create a sale. A sale is formed only after availability, price, condition, shipping arrangements, and payment terms are confirmed in writing.

Orders and payment

We may accept, decline, or cancel an order when an artwork is unavailable, information is incorrect, payment cannot be verified, fraud is suspected, or fulfillment is not reasonably possible. If we cancel a paid order, the amount collected for that order will be refunded. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Applicable taxes and shipping charges are calculated or communicated during checkout.

Final sales, condition, and shipping

Artwork purchases are final sale subject to our Refund Policy and applicable law. Works are sold in the condition shown and described. Artwork shipments are insured for the full purchase price and require an adult signature. Our Refund Policy and Shipping Policy are incorporated into these terms.

Intellectual property

Purchase of a physical artwork transfers ownership of that physical object only. It does not transfer copyright, reproduction, publication, licensing, trademark, image, or other intellectual-property rights. No artwork or site content may be reproduced, published, distributed, commercially exploited, or used to train an artificial-intelligence system without prior written permission from the applicable rights holder.

Prohibited conduct

You may not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit fraudulent information, violate another person’s rights, or use the services for an unlawful purpose.

Third-party services

Shopify and other service providers support payments, hosting, analytics, communications, and fulfillment. Their services may be governed by additional terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for independent third-party websites merely because this site links to them.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the services are provided without warranties not expressly stated in writing. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. These limitations do not exclude liability or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable federal law, without limiting mandatory consumer protections. We may update these terms prospectively by posting a revised version with a new effective date.
